Brando set to speak at 2013 Ole Miss QB Club Kickoff Banquet
Oxford, MS--The Ole Miss Quarterback Club is happy to welcome Tim Brando as the guest speaker for the 2013 OMQB Club Kickoff Banquet set for Friday August 2nd, inside the Indoor Practice Facility on the campus of the University of Mississippi.
The event will feature Ole Miss Director of Athletics Ross Bjork and Ole Miss Head Coach Hugh Freeze. You must be a member to attend the event, as this year we will seat members by reservation only.
Our guest speaker will be accompanied by his wife Terri and his two daughters, Tiffany and Tara. Tiffany currently serves as the Manager of Social Media for the Tim Brando Television Show that airs on the CBS Sports Television Network. Tara has served as an anchor on NewsWatch 99, the on-campus television station at Ole Miss, hosted the familiar segment "Know Your Foe" for Rebelvision, interned on "Fox and Friends" on the Fox News Channel in New York and served in an intern capacity for Action News 5 in Memphis. She currently is a student at Ole Miss and will graduate in May this year.
Early in his career, Tim Brando worked at WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge as assistant sports director. From 1986–94, he served as a studio host for SportsCenter, ESPN's college football halftime show, and for the network's coverage of the NCAA Men's Basketball Championships. In 1994, he provided play-by-play for TNT's coverage of the NBA Playoffs and called Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Braves games for SportSouth during that period.
In 1996, Brando joined his current home, CBS Sports, and began calling NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship games. Three years later, he added hosting duties on College Football Today, which is the broadcast network home of SEC football. He has also provided play-by-play for the NFL on CBS. In addition to his CBS duties, Brando calls games for Raycom's coverage of the Atlantic Coast Conference basketball telecasts and he is in his eighth season of hosting Raycom's Emmy Award winning show, "Football Saturdays In The South."
Many remember the days of the Jefferson Pilot SEC Game of the Week. Brando served as play-by-play for both basketball and football and currently serves as television ply-by-play announcer for all New Orleans Saints pre-season games.
A staple in SEC sports, Brando currently hosts the Tim Brando Show that can be heard throughout the country on Sirius/XM satellite radio, terrestrial radio and is also simulcast on the CBS Sports Television Network.
